The Power of Sauna:
Rediscovering Connection
At Hikitalo, we believe that saunas do more than just warm the body, from our experience, they warm the soul and foster deep connections. While a lot of the media talks about the physical benefits of sauna, we believe the true magic lies in the connections you make. The Finns have mastered the art of enjoying each other's company without needing to say a word, just being together in the warmth and gentle hiss of "löyly" is enough.
In a world where authentic relationships can often feel out of reach, our sauna provides a space for genuine human connection. Loneliness is a growing concern in our society, with many people feeling isolated and disconnected. In Wales alone, reports have shown that a significant number of individuals struggle with loneliness, a factor that greatly impacts both mental and physical wellbeing. But we believe that through the social aspect of sauna, we can play a role in reducing these numbers.
We invite you to experience the transformative power of the sauna, where every session is an opportunity to forge meaningful connections, sometimes without even needing to say a word. Join us, and experience the benefits of physical, mental and social wellbeing.

What Our Customers Say About Our Sauna
Where it all started...
The story behind Hikitalo
Hikitalo was born from William's passion for saunas and their unique ability to bring people together while enhancing wellbeing. With roots in both Wales and Holland, Will spent his school holidays visiting Wales, often coming to Porthcawl to surf. His experiences with saunas across different countries, combined with a pivotal encounter in Latin America with a Finn who shared insights into their sauna culture, inspired him to bring his vision for Hikitalo to life back in Porthcawl.
